What we do
York Cleaning Co cleans houses, offices, and commercial buildings across York County and Adams County, Pennsylvania. You call, you describe the space, and you get a flat price in writing before anyone shows up — not an hourly rate that moves once the work starts. We bring our own supplies and equipment.
Two things shape almost every job in this part of Pennsylvania, and they are worth knowing before you hire anyone. The first is water. The Piedmont and Great Valley limestone under York and Adams County produces genuinely hard water, and hard water leaves a bonded mineral film on shower glass, tile grout, faucets, and the inside of toilets. General-purpose cleaner does not remove it. It takes an acidic descaler and dwell time, and if your last cleaner left your shower looking cloudy, that is why. The second is housing age. A large share of the housing stock in York city, Red Lion, Dallastown, and the older boroughs predates 1978, which matters for how you handle dust during a deep clean — dry-sweeping painted trim in a pre-1978 house is the wrong move, and HEPA vacuuming plus wet methods is the right one.

Most recurring house cleans in York County land between $130 and $260 per visit, and one-time deep cleans run higher because they include work a maintenance clean skips — inside the oven, baseboards, window tracks, and mineral buildup in showers. Commercial janitorial is quoted per square foot and per visit frequency rather than per job, so a 4,000 sq ft office cleaned three nights a week prices very differently than the same office cleaned once a week. We quote a flat price in writing before any work starts, so the number you hear on the phone is the number you pay. Our York house cleaning cost guide breaks down what actually moves a quote up or down.
Both, and they are run as two separate crews with different checklists and different supplies. Residential work is scheduled during the day and built around occupied homes. Commercial and janitorial work is scheduled around your operating hours, which usually means evenings or early mornings so we are not cleaning around your staff and customers. Plenty of York County companies do one or the other well. If you need your house cleaned every other week and your office cleaned three nights a week, you can put both on one invoice instead of managing two vendors.
South-central Pennsylvania sits on limestone, and limestone means hard water. Dissolved calcium and magnesium react with soap and leave a bonded mineral-and-soap film on glass, tile, and fixtures that a general-purpose spray will not lift — it smears it. Removing it takes an acidic descaler, dwell time, and a non-scratch pad, which is a different process than wiping a surface down. This is the single most common thing York County homeowners tell us their last cleaner did not get, and it is standard on our deep clean and our first recurring visit.
York County and Adams County. That includes York city and the boroughs and townships around it — Hanover, Red Lion, Dallastown, Dover, Spring Grove, Shrewsbury, Stewartstown, Wrightsville, and Manchester — plus Gettysburg, New Oxford, and Littlestown in Adams County. If you are near the edge of that area, call and we will tell you straight whether we cover you rather than quoting a job we cannot staff. The full list is on our service areas page.
